Just like the frequency of the session, the length of therapy also depends on severity of the presenting problem and individual circumstances. Therapy can range from a few weeks to long term. The length of time is determined by the client and therapist. Insurance companies also provide a maximum time period for therapy for many clients. The frequency of your sessions varies from each person. This is time is set during the first session with your counselor. It is dependent upon a few factors, such as the severity of your presenting problems and identified goals. Sessions can range from 3 times a week to once a month.
